Vivaldi Technologies AS is a software development company, most known for its creation of the Vivaldi browser. It was founded in 2014 by Jon von Tetzchner and Tatsuki Tomita.[1] Jon von Tetzchner was one of the founders,[2] and formerly the CEO, of Opera Software, a software company which developed the web browser Opera.[3] About 20 former Opera employees joined him at Vivaldi Technologies.[3] In January 2017, the company had 35 employees.[4] As of February 2021, the company has 55 employees.[5]
Vivaldi Browser[edit]
Vivaldi Technologies released the Vivaldi browser as a Tech Preview on January 27, 2015. The Vivaldi browser is aimed at empowering users who want to do more with their browser rather than using extensions.[6][7]
On October 28, 2015, the Vivaldi Browser YouTube channel posted two videos: 'Choices' and 'Why Are We Making a Browser?', the latter of which was allegedly filmed inside the Innovation House in Gloucester, Massachusetts.[7] On April 6, 2016, Vivaldi Technologies released Vivaldi 1.0, the first stable release of its browser.[8]
Email[edit]
The company hopes to integrate the email client M3 into a future version of Vivaldi.[9] However, the company does have an online email service, Vivaldi Mail, at mail.vivaldi.net.[10]
Workspaces[edit]
The company is headquartered in Oslo, Norway, has the Innovation House in Reykjavík, Iceland,[11] and a workspace in the Innovation House in Gloucester, Massachusetts, US.[12] They also have developers in Helsinki, Finland; Saint Petersburg, Russia; Prague, Czech Republic, and other locations.[13]

Vivaldi.net is a community-based platform which includes social networking elements, forum, developers blog and the out Iceland based email service Vivaldi Mail.[3][2]

Vivaldi House Venice
For an exhibit focused on the music and life of composer Antonio Vivaldi, the orphanage and church where he worked still exists today.
The museum, Piccolo Museo della Pieta 'Antonio Vivaldi', chronicles the history of the Ospedale della Pieta, the orphanage where Vivaldi worked from 1703 to 1740 as the chorus master and violin teacher to the orphans. Here, he composed much of his music for the church orchestra. The museum displays original documents and the musical instruments used by the women of the choir, the students of the orphanage, and by Vivaldi himself.
Vivaldi Opera House
The church holds regular services as well as presents programs of Baroque music. It even has a boarding house where guests can stay the night. The museum can be visited by appointment only.
In addition, to Ospedale della Pieta, the Giorgio Cini Foundation maintains manuscripts of Antonio Vivaldi on San Giorgio Maggiore.
Born in Venice in 1678, Antonio Vivaldi is recognized as one of the greatest Baroque music composers. Vivaldi is best known for his violin concerto The Four Seasons.
Concerts of Vivaldi's work are held throughout the year in Venice.
