Apple-owned Shazam is the most popular music-identification service in the world. Starting with iOS 14.2, your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch can identify music playing around you or in apps via Shazam-powered music recognition available from the Control Center.

The Shazam app has received a new update for iOS 14. The app is now more useful for iOS 14, a major interface revision that was introduced in December last year. With this update, the music app now includes home screen widgets for iPhone and iPad. New widgets allow users to quickly access the latest songs defined by the application. Shazam has been helping us to name songs and identify unfamiliar music for years, but it’s only with iOS 14 that the beloved app has been given the full integration treatment by Apple, which bought it in 2018.With the iOS 14.2 update, you can now add Shazam to your iPhone’s Control Center, and you can also use the music recognition app with Siri.
- Go to Settings > Control Center
- Tap the green + to add Music Recognition to Included Controls

Do that, and you’ll see the Shazam icon in Control Center. Tap it, it’ll do its thing.

Both seem to work equally well. I’m guessing they fire up the same exact bit of code. The Control Center approach is much more subtle if you’re in a room with others. Good to have both.

The latest version of Shazam takes advantage of iOS 14's widget experience. Users can now add a small, medium or large Shazam widget to the home screen to access recently discovered songs.
Tapping on a discovered song opens Shazam to that title's informational page. In addition, the widget acts as a launchpad for app functionality, with users able to conduct a Shazam by tapping the app's icon in the top right corner.
Shazam most recently received an update in December that delivered a major user interface overhaul and added improved syncing and notifications for missed and offline Shazams. At the same time, Apple released a web version of the tool available through Shazam.com.

- What am I missing. I'm on 14.4 and have the latest Shazam, but I can't find a Shazam widget when I search widgets after hitting the add-widget '+'.

Mine wasn't there either. Open the Shazam app first, I mucked around in there first (there's a 'what's new' thing and an option to back up your Shazams to iCloud, etc. Backed out and went to add a widget again and it was right up top. There are three different widgets you can add.What am I missing. I'm on 14.4 and have the latest Shazam, but I can't find a Shazam widget when I search widgets after hitting the add-widget '+'.

Thank you. It's working now. When I checked last night, I wasn't given the 'Update' option the App Store. It's there now.
